Sheriff's Office

The Sheriff's Office is probably the most important model in my Western collection as it was the first to be made. By making this model I convinced myself that the whole project was a feasible one. The Office has been the centre for many shoot outs including the rescue of various hardened criminals.

The model is on a base made form 3mm cork tile. It features a hitching rail, although horses still haven't made it into Blaze of Glory yet. The posters on the wall are copied from Gary Chalk's excellent western building article in Wargames Illustrated issue 160. The Sheriff's Office features glazed windows. The windows are made from plastic from blister packs. I was going to glaze all the windows in town, but have decided that it is; a, too fiddly and, b, it prevents models poking weapons out.

The interior of the Sheriff's Office featuring the jail cell with bars made from cocktail sticks. The small counter on the left is the only piece of furniture in the building. I originally had grand plans for gun racks, stoves, desks etc but decided that they would only get in the way of game play.
